Mpho Tutu who is one of the daughters of the Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu of Anglican church rocked social media platforms such as twitter when she wed her partner who is also a female Marceline van Furth in the Netherlands earlier this year.
Both Mpho and Marceline were previously in heterosexual marriages and both each have 2 children from their previous marriages which they will raise together. The couple uses a double barrel surname they can now be addressed as Rev. Tutu van Furth and Prof. Marceline Tutu van Furth. Their wedding celebrations will be continued later this year in Cape Town around May.
Mpho Tutu who is also an ordained Episcopal priest is one of the first high profile preachers in South Africa to commit to a same sex marriage in the church hence the up raw. Many had mixed reactions about the union with some even calling it abomination but at the end of the day it is her right to choose who her preferred life partner should be.
