Pastor Pushie on Marriage and Divorce on TBN Africa
Mmatema Moremi who now goes by Mmtema Gavu hosts a show on TBN Africa called The Wife Talk on TBN. Pastor Pushie Watson was very vocal on the topic of marriage, hardships and divorce when she was one of the guests in Mmatema’s show. Pastor Pushie is an ordained pastor at Rhema Bible church serving under Pastor Ray McCauley. The Wife Talk season 1 aired on TBN Africa channel 343 on DSTV.

Know who you are
It is important to know who you are individually and who’s you are outside the glory of being a wife. When one knows their position in Christ, they can still be confident even if they are married or single. Pastor Pushie used the term “GODfindent” which loosely means confidence powered by God. Discover your purpose and see where you can add value. You need to know who you are. So that you can say “I am still anointed and appointed, married or single.”, she said. “Being married won’t heal you and being single won’t kill you” said Pastor Pushie.

Submission & Marriage is the most beautiful thing
Marriage is the most beautiful thing we can experience while on earth, there is no marriage on the other side. In marriage submitting is very important but Pastor Pushie insists that it is a two way thing. Both the wife and husband must play their part to one another for the relationship workout.
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Marriage is a covenant, you don’t enter it without God’s permission and you don’t leave it without God’s permission or else it can break you. Pastor Pushie shared she got married very young before she knew her calling and destiny. That eventually was a challenge because her husband didn’t marry a Pastor Pushie but married “Pushie Pushie baby” from Jam Alley and didn’t sign-up for it.
Lessons from her Marriage
Commenting on her marriage, Pastor Pushie admits she was not committed to God at the time she got married and was not living a saved life. She was married for over 15 years and they have two children together, a boy and a girl who are in their teens. She stayed in the marriage working it out, praying and submitting until she felt it was time to separate .
However Pastor Pushie emphasizes that she first had to pray about it before leaving the marriage. Her relationship with God came first. If God closes one door for you its because he has a better one opened for you Pastor Pushie lamented. Pastor Pushie recently got divorced in 2017 after 18 years being married. She has lived as a single person, experienced marriage and divorce giving her a wealth of knowledge to draw from as Pastor and counsellor to others.

The stigma of divorce from people was the least of her problem but she was more concerned about her well being and consulted her leaders for counselling.

The video clip of the shows promo trailer with Pastor Pushie trended on social media on the “until death do us apart” vow, Pastor made it clear that for her personally saying “I am nobodies ride or die. Where are we going to? Why must I die? Why am I holding the sharp part of the knife? Jesus died so that I may have abundant life. He says I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health:”
Advice on wives and in-laws
Her advice on wives who are not accepted by their in-laws Pastor Pushie advised the husband of the chastised wife to take a stand for her.
The husband should become her defender saying βThe bible says in the book of Genesis a man shall leave his mother and father and cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh. He becomes her protector, he becomes her safe place.β She further said that access to the wife should come through him the man and be the one to firmly liaise on how to treat the new wife. Therefore husbands should be careful of how they present their wives to the family as it will determine how they receive the wife.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Her parting words about Intimacy
Her parting words to husbands and wives in marriage was a call to enjoy each other. In marriage couples get the chance to explore and understand one another. Intimacy is the fuel that keeps the relationship going.
In marriage number 1 ;you pray and number 2 ;you make love , then there is no room for the enemy to get in. When one of those is taken away it opens the door for the devil to get in.
