Siya Mhlongo Joins Metro FM’s Sacred Space with Thami Ngubeni after Khaya Mthethwa Exit

Popular KZN radio personality Siya Mhlongo is set to join Thami Ngubeni to present Metro FM’s the Sacred Space every Sunday morning.

Thami Ngubeni has successfully hosted the Sunday morning gospel show on Metro FM for over 10 years and Khaya Mthethwa joined her as co-host in 2017 on the show. Thami Ngubeni was also eager to welcome Siya Mhlongo as the new co-host and shared that his first show with Metro FM is on the 1st of May 2022.

Siya Mhlongo comes with loads of radio experience from the likes of Ukhozi FM and iGagasi FM where he hosted gospel shows, midday shows and his recent show was the Sisonke Drive Show on the SA biggest radio station, Ukhozi FM.



Khaya Mthethwa exists the show after over 4 years making way for Siya Mhlongo. The award winning singer and song writer Khaya Mthethwa had joined Thami Ngubeni on the same show on Metro FM’s Sunday morning September 2017.

The all new Sacred Space aired its first show and was welcomed with warm hands such that it trended at number 1 on Twitter with #TheSacredSpace hashtag. However Khaya Mthethwa seemed to become inconsistent with time and was absent on many occasions due to other commitments as a pastor , TV presenter and an all round musician.

Siya Mhlongo celebrated the news of his move to Metro FM with his supporter on Twitter when the story broke out. He was shocked saying he can’t believe he is joining Metro FM which is the South Africa’s biggest commercial radio station. Many took to social media to celebrate with Siya.
