South Africa’s gospel music greats will gather to celebrate with the award winning Queen of Gospel and prestigious Order of Ikhamanga recipient Dr Rebecca Malope.

On the 1st of April 2023 The Bears Palace will be hosting a Gospel Music Festival in Mpumalanga this Easter holiday in Honour Of Dr Rebecca Malope.

The honorary gospel festival that is being held celebrates her and the immense contribution in the gospel music industry within the passed 35 years of her illustrious career.

Performing at this music celebration will be some of the country’s most legendary gospel music ministers such as Sipho Makhabane, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Takie Ndou, Solly Mahlangu, Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors, Lusanda, and Kholeka to name a few.

The event will be a fun filled family day with special surprise elements curated to celebrate Dr Rebecca’s musical journey.

There is excitement about the upcoming Gospel Festival in Honor of Dr Rebecca Malope in Mpumalanga. As a recipient of the prestigious Presidential Order of Ikhamanga, Dr Rebecca Malope is inarguably a national treasure and thus it is befitting to kick off the 1st annual honorary gospel music festival by honoring her. This will be the first of a series of annual gospel events which will be focusing and celebrating the country’s Gospel music industry legends.

In 2022, The Bears Palace hosted the “Strictly Kwaito Legends” event in celebration of Zola 7’s life. The event was a huge success and had a turnout of over 5000 people. The aim of these annual events is to give flowers to the music industry legends while they can smell them.
