Family in Pain As Gospel legend Solly Moholo Laid to Rest

Gospel music legend Solomon Molokoane, better known as Solly Moholo, passed away at the age of 65.

His family shared the heartbreaking news on his Facebook page. The beloved musician had been in the hospital after falling ill following a tour in Botswana, where he was promoting his album Wubani Ozo Pepeza.

Friends, family, and fans gathered to pay their respects to the gospel icon.

Last month, Moholo suffered a stroke, and his condition quickly worsened, leading to multiple organ failure. His family had even reached out to the public for help in covering his medical costs. They have voiced their frustrations with the care he received at the public hospital where he was treated, saying the delays and lack of resources contributed to his passing.

A close family friend also spoke out, criticizing the government’s lack of support for Moholo’s funeral as he was only granted approval the Friday before his Funeral. Vusi Vilakazi allegedly strongly believes that Moholo deserved a state funeral because of his incredible contributions to gospel music in South Africa.
