Pastor Mboro co-accused appeared in court but will spend over a week behind bars

South African charismatic preacher Pastor Mboro is in the news again, but not for his usual reasons. He, his son Vincent, and his bodyguard Clement appeared in court over what people are calling a hostage situation.

They are now all stuck in jail until their bail hearing on August 16th, so they’ve got over a week behind bars in police custody.

Why was Pastor Mboro carrying a Panga in a School?

It all started when Mboro went to the school on Monday the 5th of August waving his panga (a type of machete) and threatening school personnel, while his bodyguard had a rifle with him.

Pastor Mboro is in trouble for grabbing his two grandkids from Matshidiso Primary School in Katlehong, near Johannesburg. One kid is in Grade RR and the other in Grade Two.

During the chaos, the teachers tried to protect the students from these men, but Mboro and his team managed to drag the scared kids out, armed with a machete and a rifle.

Pastor Mboro and his co-accused face serious charges, like assault, recklessly handling a firearm, providing security services without registration, damaging property, and intimidation.

On August 7th, Pastor Mboro, whose real name is Paseka Motsoeneng, showed up at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court after being arrested following the incident.

What Happened to Pastor Mboro’s Church?

Someone caught the whole incident on their phone, and it blew up on social media. Because of these action, Mboro’s tent church was burned down by the angry community.

Ekurhuleni’s mayor was also asking everyone to stay calm while Pastor Mboro going through the court processes, saying, “Pastors lead an important institution.” But after Mboro’s panga incident, the community was furious at his lawless actions. They burned down the Incredible Happenings Church’s large white tent in protest.

It’s an unfortunate situation, and everyone’s watching & praying for amicable solution since children are involved in the family matter.
