Β Dr Tumisang and Lebo Sikgobela won the hearts of many South Africans with their performance at Metro Fm Awards. The Metro FM Awards were held at the Chief Albert Luthuli ICC in Durban, the awards celebrate artists who are playlisted on their station. Dr Tumi and Lebo’s performance at the awards immediately trended on social media when they performed their songs back to back.
Dr Tumi walked away with best Urban Gospel Album for his platinum selling album Love & Grace which features songs such as No Other God, Forgiven, Nothing without you ect. He was nominated among other great South African gospel music artists who gave us great music this past year, Khaya Mthethwa, Lebo Sekgobela, Joyous Celebration 20 and We Will Worship.
It’s amazing to see how much gospel music has grown in the country. There are so many genres now of gospel Β Β music andΒ contemporary gospel is slowly making its mark to mainstream.Β
