Health is Wealth – Don’t quit Says Nkanyiso
Having been at it for a while, Nkanyiso took to his social media pages to celebrate his progress on his weight loss initiative #Walkitoffwithnkanyiso saying “ Glory be to God”.
Our body is our first home before the roof on our heads and it is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We take care of our homes right? So we should take care of our bodies as best as we can. It is our earthly tent and dwelling.
For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands
1 Corinthians 6:19
Nkanyiso Bhengu encouraged himself in the post and said
“Can I take this moment and just congratulate me and my dedication to fight obesity. Still a long way to go but I am not where I used to be. Glory be to God”. This was well received and many encouraged him and other were encouraged to join him in taking care of their health needs.
On the Mental, Financial and Physical Aspect of The Weight Loss Journey
In an interview with TshisaLIVE on Sowetan, the Nkanyiso shared that his weight gain had gotten to a stage where it was limiting him and he didn’t want that. He has a wife and children he said he does not wish to leave before his time because of obesity related complications. He had to make a decision to start and take it one step at a time, by simply walking and a change in diet.
Nkanyiso Bhengu said he had to understood the struggles that go into making the decision to start exercising or even something as “simple” as walking. He highlighted that there is mental battle in the mind that must be won first. He said that the problem is, it usually becomes overwhelming just thinking of starting and we can easily lose the mental battle before we even begin to try.
The fight against obesity is a tough one, but a worthy one for one’s overall well being. Every bit of support be it emotional , financial, skills or diet wise goes along way. Nkanyiso hopes that others join this weight loss journey and also for sponsors to come to help where they can.
