Kelly Khumalo to host a gospel concerned this Easter at the Lyric Theatre. The Gospel Explosion is really happening, her vocal highness Kelly Khumalo will be teaming up with the best including likes of Mondli Ngcobo and DJ Vigilante on production. She also shared her excitement on her social media that the project will be called ‘From A God To A King’. In her announcement she teased saying
“Iām so delighted to announce my first annual #GospelExplosionConcert,”
The concert will take place during the Easter weekend. According to reports Kelly Khumalo is will host #GospelExplosionConcert” project annually, with an ideally all female line up. Kelly has always been vocal about her spirituality and attributes all her success to God.
Kelly is a well known South African afro-pop sensation and reality TV star with well documented accolades in music. In 2020, she teamed up with gospel star Hlengiwe Mhlaba and released the song titled ‘Esphambanweni’. Their Esphambanweni’ single was well received, it topped gospel charts and even earned them an nomination for amongst best gospel song at the prestigious Crown Gospel Music Awards.
She has always included a gospel song in her albums as God has always been a significant part of her life. She recently announced in her realty TV show that she will be under going Sangoma initiation to explore her spiritual gifts further. Speaking to Sowetan Kelly confesses she is not planning to move to Gospel Music saying “I am not a gospel artist and I don’t think I will ever be a gospel artist. I am just an artist”
