That exciting time of the year has come again, yes the 7th SABC Crown Gospel Awards 2015 are around the corner. They be celebrating gospel music, its artists and all who are involved in impacting the God’s kingdom in a positive light. The 2015 edition of the SABC Crown Gospel Awards is set to be held on the 15 November this year at the Durban ICC Arena.
Most gospel artists and supporters look forward to this event to see and celebrate all the gospel artists who have contributed to their spiritual journey this year. The atmosphere is usually one filled with thanks giving, joyful cheers and encoring words from participants of the event. They recently closed nominations for their awards categories and held a nominee party on the 9th October to announce all those that were nominated in the various categories.
The awards are usually aired live on one of the SABC channels and include performances from South African gospel artists and from other African countries. Zanele Mbokazi-Khambule says the she is happy to see how people have welcomed these awards and how they have grown each year. As one of the founders and producers of the show she said that they always hard work to present the best of the best to south Africans viewers and the world in terms of both the talent and the events production. The most contested category is the “Song of the year” award which was won by Solly Manhlangu in 2011 for “Wahamba nathi”, Thina Zungu won for “Kwanqabumusa” in 2012, in 2013 Dumi Mkostadi won for “Mbize ” and the hit song “Zundithwale” won last year for this category. I look forward to this years edition and congratulations to all the monies for this year.
