Rev Faleni Suspended Indefinitely on Umhlobo Wenene
Umhlobo Wenene FM’s presenter Rev Mzukisi Faleni was taken off air in June 2022 and has now been reported to be suspended indefinitely. He hosted two shows , Ukholo Nengqiqo and Imvuselelo on Sundays on one of South Africa’s 2nd biggest radio station Umhlobo wenene FM.
He has served the station for over 20 years and many have come to love him on his evening gospel show with Nomonde. He is also an ordained Presbyterian Church of Africa minister and author of 3 books and serves as a Chaplain in the Department of Correctional Services.
Why was Rev Faleni Suspended
Sources reported by Daily Dispatch say Umhlobo Wenene FM’s management has now dismissed Rev Mzukisi Faleni, citing “material breach” and conflict of interest on his freelance contract with the station.
Rev Faleni was suspended on allegations of conflict of interest following his inclusion as a contributor on a community radio station in the Western Cape called Zibonele FM.
Listeners React to the news of Rev Faleni
Listeners of the station are not happy about not having Rev M Faleni on air and they blame local musician and TV host Loyiso Bala. After joining the station last year as the business manager for SABC’s Umhlobo Wenene FM and Tru FM he is in a position to make the call on Rev M Faleni.
I’m shocked and saddened to hear that Rev.M.Faleni has been fired by uMhlobo Wenene fm.This is going to be a great loss on Airwaves,

It would appear that Rev Faleni has never appeared in front of the SABC DC. He was just expelled . We ask the National SABC management to intervene. Freelance policy is practised by SABC everyday. Some of the voices we listened to in SABC are also heard in other media houses. pic.twitter.com/z7jYAj7rvT
