
Zanele Mbokazi’s Maria Gospel Musical Another Success
Maria The Gospel Musical made a come back to theatre and was a success. The gospel musical starring Brian Temba and Yolanda Myeza is a brainchild of Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, founder of the Crown Gospel Music Awards. It was initially scheduled for Easter weekend at the Durban Playhouse and was moved to Friday the 22nd to Sunday the 24th of April due to KZN flood complications.

Maria The Gospel Musical is way of preaching the Gospel in a creative way. Gospel Musical is based on the Biblical story of Maria the mother of Jesus and Jesus. The show who’s hash tag is #MariaTheGospelMusical tells the story of Jesus Christ through his mother Maria.
This is something new as a theatre Gospel Musical has never been done before in this magnitude. Brian Temba and Yolanda Myeza bagged leading roles and did a stella job to wow the audience at the Durban Playhouse. Zanele Mbokazi worked along side Larry Mastermind Mhlanga, Wanda Khwela and Syanda M Mwandla to put the theatre production together.
The much-anticipated MARIA – Gospel musical was postponed as some cast members had been affected by the recent floods in KZN. The show was scheduled for Easter weekend, however, it was moved to the next weekend of Friday the 22nd – Sunday the 24th of April at the Durban Playhouse.
